Billy Battrick

Billy Battrick

Billy Battrick took up Martial Arts at the age of 13 after being bullied badly at school. Suffice to say that the bullies got what they deserved and Billy was never bullied again.

He started training in the martial arts under the instruction of Neil Fagan (Twice European Karate Champion). He progressed along the ranks of Shukokia Karate gaining his 1st Dan Black Belt, along the way entering competitions, first at local tournaments then at national level.

He won his first major Karate title at the S.K.C. National Karate Championships  then defended the same title the following year.

He was selected for training with the British Karate team and fought competitors from as far away as Russia.

He then entered the F.E.K.O. National Karate Championships in Nottingham, winning his third National Karate Champion title.

Wanting more from the competitive side of Martial Arts, he trained in Full Contact under the instruction of Dean Whittle, the former British Welterweight Kickboxing Champion.Through hard training, expert tuition and gaining ring experience, Billy challenged for the British Title.

After fighting 7 hard fought rounds against the Scottish Champion he became the British Middleweight Kickboxing Champion. He defended the title the following year against the then Irish Champion, gaining his second Full Contact title in Kickboxing.

His vast experience in both Karate and Full Contact Kickboxing has helped him combine these two sports to develop an effective system of self defence.
